DESCRIPTION
We are carrying out routine work on a pair of core switches on the morning of Wednesday the 6th of December. We do not expect this work to be service affecting.
Resolution: We have backed out of this work due to the overlap with this issue: "Some BT Circuits Dropping or high packetloss - https://aastatus.net/42586" We're not yet sure if this work was related to the outage, and we're still investigating. DESCRIPTION
Due to the restart of the LNS earlier today we are taking y.witless out of service. This will mean moving the lines that are currently connected to it on to another LNS. This will happen overnight tonight and will mean a shot drop of service as the line reconnects. The time will be at your usual 'LNS switch over time' which is default to 1AM. This only affects a small percentage of our customers.
Resolution: This was completed - though, some lines were moved in the early hours of 22nd June.

DESCRIPTION
We are performing overnight software upgrades on our "Gormless" set of LNSs. This will cause customer lines to drop and reconnect when the LNS they are on is updated. We will be doing one LNS a night and the work starts from 1AM. Due to the number of LNSs this will last a few weeks. DESCRIPTION
Due to a recent crash on one of our LNSs (G.Gormless) we are going to to move lines off this LNS. This will happen in the early hours of Thursday 10th November, from 1AM. A small number of customers will see their line drop and then reconnect.

DESCRIPTION

A part of a change to BT's UK core network they are performing work that will, unfortunately, impact all our BT DSL services (ADSL, FTTC G.FAST, FTTP) in the early hours of 18th August as follows:

BT are upgrading some 21C network software in Multiple Sites. The outage to all customers will be approx 15 minutes whilst the device is rebooted. This could extend to 1 hour if roll back is required to reboot to the old code. The downtime will start some time after 01:00 We plan to be finished by 04:00 , however if we encounter additional problems, service outage could extend to 06:00

For resilience, we have separate links to BT which are provided in different datacentres and which lead back to different BT exchanges. This should mean than we can carry on working during BT planned works or core network outages, however this is not the case this time. We are disappointed that this work is seemingly needed to be done to all our links to BT at the same time.

Customers with services via TalkTalk will be unaffected by this.


Resolution: BT have completed their work. Unexpectedly, It it not affect any of our services. All our links to BT remained operating as normal during their work.

DESCRIPTION

To increase our capacity we are adding three additional LNS routers. These are the routers that broadband lines connect to.

New connections from this afternoon may land on these but we will be performing a 're-balance' of all lines over all our LNSs next week during the early hours of the mornings. This involves forcing connection to re-connect (PPP Kill) and so will mean a brief interruption to service from 4AM.

This work is a re-schedule of: https://aastatus.net/39513. For Broadband customers, we have dual links to BT in separate datacentres - BT have planned work for the links we have in the Harbour Exchange datacentre (Equinix LD8) on 26th May between midnight and 6AM. This will mean that we will be running on just our links in Telehouse. We have enough capacity and customer should not experience any loss or deterioration of service. The work takes place on the early hours of 26th May, but we'll be moving traffic to Telehouse the day before.
Resolution: We bought our BT links back in to service this morning.

DESCRIPTION

We had problems overnight with one of our interconnects to BT. This resulted in a large number of BT lines dropping and reconnecting. Due to that way that reconnects work in this situation we have a higher than normal number lines on a single LNS (router) at our side.

So as to avoid these lines from experiencing congestion we plan to force them to reconnect to the correct LNS from 17:30 this evening. This will mean a PPP drop and reconnect for these affected lines resulting in loss of service whilst the customer router reconnects. This would take between a few seconds and a minute depending on the router at the customer side.
